Market prospects and issues of photovoltaic roofs
In the context of the national goal of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality", low-carbon green buildings are a key measure to achieve "carbon neutrality". Compared to centralized photovoltaic power plants, rooftop distributed photovoltaic power supply is dominated by the user side, which can effectively reduce dependence on centralized grid power supply and enhance the flexibility of the power system.

According to estimates from the industry and securities firms, based on the scale of China's real estate and building area, the total space of distributed photovoltaic systems on rooftops in China may exceed 600GW, which is 2.36 times the current installed capacity of photovoltaics. The size of the photovoltaic building market is expected to reach trillions. After more than a decade of development, China's photovoltaic industry has established a mature industrial chain. With the current decline in photovoltaic product prices, the dual attributes of energy and building materials given to photovoltaic roofs, along with the implementation of national policies, will usher in a new period of rapid development for the industry.

Due to the instability of photovoltaic power generation and difficulties in grid scheduling, its integration into the grid is subject to certain limitations. Although the installed capacity has been increasing year by year, it has also resulted in the problem of power abandonment losses. One way to promote the healthy development of the distributed photovoltaic industry is through the development of corresponding energy storage and microgrids.
